Do This in Memory of Me: Obedience to Honor our Love for Jesus Christ

By Laura Worhacz

“The action of the Holy Ghost on the loving soul completes that of the Father and of the Son; His mission is to perpetuate and perfect Jesus Christ in His members. The Holy Ghost, educator and sanctifier of man in Jesus Christ, will abide always in man as in His temple. The Holy Ghost will fill man’s mind with good thoughts, will help him formulate his prayer even to the wording of it, will supernaturalize his actions, will constantly nourish his love until, on becoming a perfect man in Jesus Christ, man shares in heaven the triumph of the same Jesus Christ, seated on the throne and crowned with glory.” A Eucharistic Handbook, Eymard Library, Volume 6 page 23

Dearest Eucharistic Family,

“The action of the Holy Ghost on the loving soul completes that of the Father and of the Son;” Our obedience entwined with love activates the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The same love that flows out of the Chalice, the same love offered in every choice that we make. This week my family was at Mary, Queen of the Universe in Orlando for Holy Mass. Those of you who have visited the Shrine where daily Mass is offered in the side Chapel have seen how close the pews are to the Altar. We were in the second row for Mass, when Father elevated the Chalice at the Consecration. There was a reflection of the congregation in attendance shining off the Chalice to those of us sitting in the pews. We could see ourselves, see our reflection… My thoughts at that moment, “are we reflecting You; Jesus, am I reflecting You: Jesus”.

We are being supernaturalized, St. Peter Julian reminds us of this in the above excerpt. The action of the Holy Spirit will be ignited insouls that choose to love, that want to be obedient to the love of the Holy Trinity’s oneness. The precious blood of Jesus Christ held in the Chalice at every Mass is perpetuated for the glory of the Father where Jesus Christ may abide in His children. Mary who is Queen of the universe/Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament triumphed in the Heavenly Kingdom while walking the earth. She was obedient to the call of God through the message of an angel, her YES came from her heart. Mary loved her Creator, espoused herself to His gifts of the Holy Spirit and allowed the natural life to be entwined with the supernatural.

“The action of the Holy Ghost on the loving soul completes that of the Father and the Son;” The Holy Trinity!

Please offer the following prayer, remembering your consecration promise:

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

Blessed are you, Mary exalted daughter of Sion!
You are highly favoured and full of grace,
for the spirit of God descended upon you.
We magnify the Lord and rejoice with you
for the gift of the Word made flesh,
bread of life and cup of joy.
Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament,
our model of prayer in the Cenacle,
pray for us that we may become what we receive,
the body of Christ, your son. Amen.
